Hook: #2 Mustad S71S SS 2XHeavy/1X Long
Thread: Olive Flat Waxed
Eyes: White Dumbell
Tail: Large Flexi Tail Charteuse w/Sliver
Body: One strand of Hareline Holo-Cactus Chenille wrapped together with one starnd of White River Olive Polar Chenille (or one strand of Gartside Olive Crab ‘n Dab Fur Hackle, second picture).
When wrapping body try to keep strands separate and fibers folded back to avoid trapping.
For the Gartside material tie it off just behind the eye and wrap the eye with the cactus Chenille only. Also, it may be trimmed a bit if desired.

Hook: Mustad 34007 #2
Thread: Flat Waxed Rust
Eyes: Dumbell Small
Tail: Orange Kip Tail the length of the shank flanked by one strand of Sili Leg on each side
Body: Gold-Olive Estaz or Ice Dub
Flash: 6 Strands of Flashabou
Wing: Camel Craft Fur
Colors can be varied to as you like.
This pattern does not imitate anything specific that the fish eat on the flats here in Sarasota, but these colors seem to be very attractive to them anyway.
Tie the eyes just over the hook point Clouser-style. Tie in the tail and the legs behind and trim. Tie in the Estaz behind as well, put one wrap behind the eyes then figure 8 over the eyes. When wrapping forward stroke the fibers backward with your left hand. Stop about 2 hookeye widths back of the eye to allow room to tie in the flash and the wing.
Trim a bit of estaz away from the dumbell eyes so that they show through.
