Braided Tail Pike Minnow

Red Marabou
White Marabou
Red 140 Denier Thread
3X Long Nymph Hook
Red 5 inch pieces of chenille (3 strands)
Lead Wire (optional)

1. Lay down thread base
2. Braid chenille pieces together and knot at both ends
3. Tie chenille braid onto hook halfway along hook shank just behind knot
4. Cut off knot ahead of thread
5. Tie in white marabou where knot was
6. Tie in red marabou on top of white marabou
7. Go under marabou and wrap thread back to knot at back of "tail"
8. Tie in red marabou ahead of knot
9. Tie in white marabou on top of red marabou
10. Cover all of ends of marabou with thread (at this end)
11. Wrap thread forward to front marabou, then under until you are back to where you tied the marabou to the hook.
12. Trim off ends of marabou at front in a round shape to make a "head"
13. End with whip finish and fly head cement to all exposed thread
14. (optional) If you would like to change to a sub surface lure, tie in lead wire under the hook marabou. If you want it to be a topwater, tie according to instructions.
