Galician Swimming Damsel
By BlueHaze on Dec 27, 2008 in Coldwater, Fly Patterns
-Hook: Swimming nymph hook, or long one (you could bend it a little bit by yourself ).
-Eyes: Bead chain eyes (mono eyes could be great too, but less weight!)
-Tail: Marabou
-Body: Marabou wrapped along with copper wire.
-Thorax/head: Fluffly bright dubbing, I used angora + antron, but others could be great substitutes.
-Wingcase: Turkey, apply some flex coat before and trim in V shape.
-Legs: marabou.
Use a slightly weighted hook, swimming nymph or extra large and slightly bent. Secure the eyes with some cement. Put some fluffy marabou tips for the tail, secure the wire piece and build a marabou thin body... apply some dubbing for the thorax, more bulky than the body. Secure the turkey feathers (apply them some flexible cement or laquer and trim in a V shape), go on with the thorax and some more marabou for the legs, finish the wingcase, whip finish, cement and voilá! Easy as hell!
