Matt’s Simple Foam Beetle

Hook: Dai Riki 305 size 14
Thread: Danville 6/0 Black
Body: Peacock Hurl
Back: Black Foam
Legs: Black Rooster Hackle (palmered)
Indicator: Yellow Foam or Yarn
This is an easy and effective beetle.
1. Cut oval shaped body in foam.
2. Tie pre cut foam at the bend of the hook.
3. Tie in 2-3 strands of Peacock Hurl and a single rooster hackle.
4. Wrap hurl up the shank.
5. Palmer Hackle forward in wide turns.
6. Tie down forming head
7. Add Indicator
8. Fish
