By coulee fishing on Jan 4, 2008 in Coldwater, Fly Patterns
tail is pheasant rump and purple crystal flash.
collar is pheasant rump.
body- blended rabbit and lite brite dubbing.
bead head
I usually tie this in a size 10 or 12, but have tied in larger sizes for smallmouth
tie in pheasant rump maraboo at mid point on shank and tie down the barb area of hook followed by crystal flash.
Tie in pheasant rump by the tip about 1/4 shank length back from bead head. Fold rump feather and wrap about 3 wraps and tie off. Finish hook shank between pheasant rump feather and bead with the blended dupping and whip finish.
Toss in your favorite warm or cold water hole and hang on. I have never been skunked on this fly.
